How to play against Brand

To beat Brand in Support on patch 26.20, start by knowing what you are up against: Brand is an off-meta pick this patch with a 48.3% win rate across 9,832 ranked games at a 1.5% pick rate. The champions that beat Brand hardest right now are Leona, Thresh, Milio: Leona wins 53.9% of the lane against it. Any of these is a safe counter pick. Brand is strongest early (46.8% before 25 minutes) and falls off, so survive the early game and the matchup swings your way. Playing the matchup itself: Brand must land an ability before his combo is able to get started. Dodging his Sear or Pillar of Flame will disrupt his rhythm. Try to move away from allies when you see Pyroclasm being cast. The initial missile speed is slow, which should give your team time to react. Brand's passive allows him to excel against teams that cluster together. Be sure to split up against him. Pick a counter from the list above, respect Brand's power spikes, and track its cooldowns so you only commit to trades when its key abilities are down. Counter data updates automatically every patch.
