How to play against Zed
To beat Zed in Mid on patch 26.20, start by knowing what you are up against: Zed is a balanced pick this patch with a 50.1% win rate across 6,549 ranked games at a 9.1% pick rate. The champions that beat Zed hardest right now are
Yone,
Fizz,
Ekko: Yone wins 54.8% of the lane against it. Any of these is a safe counter pick. Zed is strongest early (50.0% before 25 minutes) and falls off, so survive the early game and the matchup swings your way. Playing the matchup itself: Zed receives bonus effect from Attack Damage items he purchases, so Armor is super effective against him. After Zed uses his Living Shadow, he is at his most vulnerable as his damage, slow, and mobility are both dependent upon it. Zed's Shadow Slash can only slow you if his shadow hits you with it. Pick a counter from the list above, respect Zed's power spikes, and track its cooldowns so you only commit to trades when its key abilities are down. Counter data updates automatically every patch.
