How to play against Skarner
To beat Skarner in Jungle on patch 26.20, start by knowing what you are up against: Skarner is an off-meta pick this patch with a 50.8% win rate across 16,401 ranked games at a 1.0% pick rate. The champions that beat Skarner hardest right now are
Shyvana,
Elise,
Shaco: Shyvana wins 54.2% of the lane against it. Any of these is a safe counter pick. Skarner is strongest early (51.4% before 25 minutes) and falls off, so survive the early game and the matchup swings your way. Playing the matchup itself: Ixtal's Impact can be stopped by any stun, root, or knock-up. Save a key cooldown if he's coming for a gank! Impale can be dodged. Use Flash or another ability to get out of reach. Skarner's sustained damage can eventually take you down. Be careful not to ignore him. Pick a counter from the list above, respect Skarner's power spikes, and track its cooldowns so you only commit to trades when its key abilities are down. Counter data updates automatically every patch.
